Chance Cathey's love of visual art and storytelling drew him to filmmaking at a young age. He began focusing on moving images in junior high school.

Later in life, after living all over the country, he began to pursue a career in filmmaking at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). Chance has a BA in Spanish from Florida State University and has graduated from SCAD with a BFA in Film and Television this year. Chance's films, albeit few, display innovative form and risk-taking subject matter.
